Our Story

We are a woman and veteran owned garden design consultation company with a focus on sustainable ecological practices and smart design that will both meet client’s needs and be beneficial for native flora and fauna in an ever changing global climate.

After moving to the St. Louis area on military orders, Rebecca later separated from the military to put down roots locally. After serving 10 years as a Nuclear Launch Officer (13N) it was time to tackle the next adventure.

Spending over 5,000 hours underground in Wyoming for service to the Nation led to a deep appreciation of time spent in the fresh air and warm sunshine. An interest in garden design and nature conservation grew into a business out of a desire to share personal knowledge and experience with those wanting to do their part for the environment but not knowing how or where to start.

As someone who has deep respect for our native environment and a local beekeeper, Rebecca believes in gardening and design that eliminates the needs for chemicals that are scientifically proven to be harmful for our native flora and fauna.

We’ve seen firsthand the devastation that “safe” pesticides can cause in bee colonies, pets and families. We believe putting a little more thought into design can eliminate the need for these harmful substances while also making maintenance less hands-on for the client.

At Carr Garden Design, we develop gardens with a goal of solving client outdoor space needs while putting an emphasis on native and wildlife friendly design. We believe that by making an artful and smart combination of exciting exotic varieties and beneficial natives, we can show more people the beauty and benefit behind thoughtful garden design. We’ll work with you to see exactly what your needs are, develop your outdoor aesthetic style, and help make your dreams a reality.

We understand that not everyone loves gardening like we do or has the time to same amount of time to spend on their landscape. Our designs are made to fit into your lifestyle. With a focus on perennials that will come back year after year and annuals that will self-seed your work is minimal in years to come. We’re also available for consultation after the initial setup of your project. We’re here to make sure you succeed.
